Bean Burger

A tasty burger made out of kidney beans and oat flakes. The patty is also great for BBQ or as a rissole when cold.



  1. Finely chop onion, mince garlic cloves and strain beans
  2. Add onion, garlic, kidney beans, soy sauce and barbecue sauce to a large bowl and mush everything together. Adjust consistency and taste with soy sauce, barbecue sauce, salt and pepper and let the mixture rest for around 10 minutes
  3. Meanwhile slice tomatoes and gherkins
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a pan, wet your hands and form burger patties from the mixture with the appropriate diameter for your buns. Fry from both sides until crispy and brown
  5. Toast burger buns
  6. Mix mustard and ketchup 1:1 for a simple sauce
  7. Assemble the burger: bottom bun, sauce, tomato slice, patty, gherkin slices, sauce, top bun
