Bean Burger
A tasty burger made out of kidney beans and oat flakes. The patty is also great for BBQ or as a rissole when cold.

Ingredients
- 4 burger buns
- 1 large onion
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
- kidney beans (2 cans)
- oat flakes (2 cups)
- barbecue sauce
- soy sauce
- salt
- pepper
- neutral vegetable oil
- 2 tomatoes
- 4 gherkins
- ketchup
- mustard
Directions
- Finely chop onion, mince garlic cloves and strain beans
- Add onion, garlic, kidney beans, soy sauce and barbecue sauce to a large bowl and mush everything together. Adjust consistency and taste with soy sauce, barbecue sauce, salt and pepper and let the mixture rest for around 10 minutes
- Meanwhile slice tomatoes and gherkins
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan, wet your hands and form burger patties from the mixture with the appropriate diameter for your buns. Fry from both sides until crispy and brown
- Toast burger buns
- Mix mustard and ketchup 1:1 for a simple sauce
- Assemble the burger: bottom bun, sauce, tomato slice, patty, gherkin slices, sauce, top bun
